A Name Full of Strength and Story
Before we began, his father, Paul, shared the powerful meaning behind Phoenix’s name—words that stayed with me throughout the session.
“Phoenix – because we endured a pretty long IVF journey and at one point were left to believe that he might not happen. Considering the IVF journey and its hardships, we named him Phoenix for strength after struggle. ”
Some babies come into the world surrounded by stories of strength, perseverance, and deep love —and Phoenix is absolutely one of them. Photographing him felt like witnessing the beginning of a long-awaited chapter and I could see the emotion in the parent’s faces as they watched me photograph their miracle.
Soft Neutrals for a Calm, Timeless Look
For Phoenix’s session, Paul and Che chose a classic palette of blue, beige, and tan—colors that allow his tiny features to take center stage and go very well with his nursery. He settled beautifully into each pose, letting me capture those fleeting early details: curled hands, delicate eyelashes, tiny profile, and the peaceful expressions that define these first days of life.
These tones created a gentle, organic feel—timeless images his parents will cherish as a reminder of how small he was and how big their love already is.
