Safe, Studio Sessions for the Intentional Mother
The first few weeks go faster than you expect. Newborns are easiest to photograph in the first 7 to 21 days — when they sleep deeply, curl naturally, and settle into poses that make these images so special. That said, if your baby is a little older, reach out anyway. I work with newborns beyond that window and will let you know what is possible for your baby's age.
I have photographed over 500 newborns in my Sandy Springs studio over the past 10 years. I know how to keep your baby calm, safe, and comfortable throughout the entire session — which typically runs 2 to 4 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding, settling, and capturing every detail without rushing.
Everything is provided. You choose a color palette before your session and I design the sets, select the props, and style every shot around your vision. All you need to do is get yourself and your baby through the door. I handle the rest.
It’s best to schedule your newborn photos during your second or third trimester to ensure availability. After your baby arrives, you will contact me to confirm the exact date for your baby's photos in our photo studio.
It is best to photograph the baby between 7-21 days after birth when they still sleep much of the time, and they curl so nicely for the poses. Although this is an ideal time, sometimes life happens, or baby comes ahead of time, and we need to wait a little longer. That is also OK!
When Should I Book an Atlanta Newborn Photographer?
I love photographing babies in colors that match your style and use delicate accessories that captures the true essence of your little one.
You will choose a color palette, and I will design the sets based on those colors. I provide all outfits and props for baby, but we are always happy to incorporate pieces that have sentimental value to the family.
For a unique and more elaborate set-up, we may incorporate digital backgrounds in our images; photos that we know are not realistic (e.g., baby on top of the earth, baby sleeping on the moon, etc.) but look adorable.
What Does My Studio Newborn Session Include?
The newborn photo session usually takes 2-4 hours, as I want to allow plenty of time for cuddling, feeding, and keeping baby relaxed and sleepy.
My studio is located in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area and we serve the metro Atlanta area including Roswell, Alpharetta, Marietta, Norcross, and South Atlanta but I have clients that travel from different parts of Georgia.
How Long Is a Newborn Session?
A few days after your session, you will receive a link with the proofs. You can choose on your own, or we can meet in person or online to review your photos and help you choose what you love.
You would receive your finished images 1-3 weeks after you place your order. I offer handcrafted Italian albums (my most popular product for newborns), as well as prints, canvases, and digital images.
When Will I Receive My Newborn Photos?
Most newborn sessions are booked during the second or third trimester — before your baby arrives. Availability fills quickly, so the sooner you reach out the better. Contact me today and I will walk you through everything, answer your questions, and check availability for your due date.
