Newborn Photographer Atlanta
Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Booking a newborn photography session is the best way to celebrate and document the start of a new chapter in your family. I truly believe that it is so important to document those fleeting moments when your baby is so little; they grow up so fast. Before you know it, you will be attending their high school graduation (speaking from my own experience)
It’s best to schedule your newborn photos during your 2nd or 3rd trimester to ensure availability. I only book a limited number of photo sessions per month, and my calendar fills up quickly. Once your session fee is paid and you sign a contract, we will schedule a tentative date on my calendar 7-10 days after your due date. After your baby arrives, you will contact me to confirm the exact date. It is best to photograph the baby between 7-21 days of birth. However, we can photograph the baby later, especially if born prematurely.
My home studio is located in Sandy Springs and I serve the metro Atlanta area.
Newborn Photo Consultation
We start with a phone or in person consultation to learn more about what type of images you are looking for, so I can do my utmost to deliver those to you. We will discuss pricing, packages, what to bring, and how the entire process works, as well as what types of images are most important to you. We will also discuss the color palette to use for the photos, as well as what to wear for parents and siblings. The recommended clothes for parents and siblings are simple, classic, neutral colors including beige, tans and grays. I usually photograph family using a white background. We have all the necessary clothes and props for baby. But I am happy to incorporate a prop that has some sentimental value to you.
The day of the Newborn Photo Session
Newborn sessions are usually very relaxed, quiet, slow sessions. Plan to be at the studio for 3-4 hours. I only book one session per day, so we will not be rushed and will follow baby’s lead. I will invest a great deal of time and talent in your images and will plan the set-ups and props based on the color palette discussed. You will see me work for several minutes just to properly position the baby, as this must be done with utmost care. We know these first days after becoming a parent are exhausting, so I want you to think of your session as an opportunity to relax. If the baby gets hungry and fussy, we will simply stop and wait for you to breastfeed or bottle-feed the baby as long as necessary. We use a space heater for the comfort of the little ones, so be aware that it will be warm in the studio, so dress comfortably.
We will meet 2-4 days after your session to view your images and place your order. I will guide you in choosing your favorite images and will provide my expertise on sizes, finishes, and album design. If ordering regular prints, cards and canvasses, it usually takes 1-2 weeks to receive them. Albums will take 3-4 weeks from the final approval of the design. These albums, which are of exquisite quality, are made in Italy and is my most popular product for newborns.
It is an honor for me to have you trust me to document these precious moments, and those images will be treasured by generations to come. Please contact us for more information
I love photographing sibling pictures and usually are the parents favorites! I usually photograph these images first before moving onto baby’s photos. Please prepare your other child before the session by explaining where they’ll be going and what is going to happen, describing it as a happy, exciting and important event and not something to be afraid of. I will wrap baby for these so is easier for big brother or sister to hold them.
