Welcome to the world, Nora Grace! Nora is the newest member of our family, and I was so excited to meet her and be her newborn photographer. My niece, Melina, lives in Tampa, Florida. I was more than happy to travelled there from Atlanta for the baby’s first professional photos. Nora’s theme for the nursery is pink, gray, cream and elephants; so I brought those colors with me for her pictures.
I photographed my baby niece when she was 16 days old. I was happy to have my sister Mayra (grandmother or Mimi) as my assistant. When photographing newborns, I prefer to do it between 7-21 days. Since we had pretty window light, I took most of the pictures using natural light. This was a first for me, as I use artificial light when photographing newborns.
Since I was also visiting with them, we had a more “relaxed”, longer photo session and waited to take pictures while she slept, which allowed us to capture some beautiful curled, sleepy poses.
I was excited to capture three generations of beautiful women – no doubt an image that baby Nora will cherish forever. Oh, what would I give to have a picture with my mom and grandmother!
It was such an honor for me to welcome and photograph the newest member of our family. Congratulations Melina and Jacob, you have such a beautiful baby girl. You know Mimi and Papi are sending their blessings from Heaven!
