How I Make Newborn Editing Easier with Evoto AI

Let’s be honest—AI in photography can feel a little intimidating at first. I get it. When you’ve spent years perfecting your style and carefully doing all your newborn editing by hand, the thought of handing some of that off to a computer might feel a little scary.

But here’s the thing: AI isn’t here to replace us—it’s here to help us. When we use it well, AI photo editing can give us more time, more control, and more room to focus on the parts of our work we love most—like capturing those sweet baby details.

I absolutely love photographing newborns. Their tiny fingers, their squishy cheeks, their perfect little rolls—I could do this all day. But editing newborn photos? That used to take all day. With the peeling skin, color shifts (jaundice, grey, red tones), baby acne, scratches, and splotches, newborn editing can be incredibly time-consuming. And of course, we want to keep the skin looking soft and natural without over-editing. I always tell my parents, I like to remove anything that is not permanent as parents we want to remember them exactly how they were.

The Game Changer: Evoto AI

Recently, I found something that changed the game for me.

Evoto AI is a standalone AI editing software that has completely streamlined my editing process. You can create presets that fit your style, apply them with just a few clicks, make quick adjustments based on the baby’s skin and lighting, and then sync it across the rest of the gallery. It’s fast, simple, and honestly kind of fun to use.

Easy to Use and Budget Friendly

Evoto AI is a standalone editing program you can download for free. You only pay for what you use—one credit per image—and credits are less than 10 cents each. That makes it a super affordable option for anyone editing large newborn galleries regularly. When you sign up, use coupon code: DUVAL (15% off on annual subscription plans, 20% off on 200 credits pay-as-you-go)

You can create your own presets that match your editing style, apply them in seconds, make small adjustments for each baby, and sync them across the whole session. It’s a huge time saver, especially for photographers who want to streamline their newborn editing process without sacrificing quality.

My Newborn Editing Workflow with Evoto

Now, I still use Lightroom and Photoshop in my workflow. Here’s how I’ve added Evoto into the mix:

  1. I start in Lightroom—adjust exposure, highlights, shadows, and white balance.
  2. Then I export as a TIFF file and open it in Evoto.
  3. Inside Evoto, I apply my newborn preset, make any little tweaks based on the baby’s skin, and sync across the rest of the images.
  4. I export them (this is where the credits are used), and then…
  5. I do one last polish in Photoshop—light, contrast, sharpening, or any final touches.

Before Evoto, editing a gallery could take me 6–8 hours. That’s a big chunk of time to carve out in my schedule. Now? I’ve cut that time significantly. That means more time for other parts of my business—or just more time with my family.
