I love capturing the newborn period in my photography studio located in Atlanta. Using professional photography is important for many reasons:
- Time flies: The newborn phase is fleeting, and babies grow and change rapidly during this period. By documenting this precious stage, you can preserve those early moments forever and create timeless memories. My youngest just graduated from high-school, and I can not believe where the time has gone.
- Cherished memories: Newborn photography allows you to capture the innocence, vulnerability, and purity of your baby. These images become treasured keepsakes for both the parents and the child as they grow older, evoking nostalgia and reminding them of their early days. .I love still looking through some of these images with my own children
So I am always super excited every single time I hold a baby in my hands during their newborn photos. I was specially excited to photograph Timia at day 7 of life. Mom asked me to use bold colors, including yellow, mustard, red. All those colors looked so great with her skin tone.
Working with newborns requires patience and flexibility. I like to approach the session with a calm and gentle demeanor, allowing ample time for breaks, feedings, and soothing the baby when needed. Babies can be unpredictable, and I will adjust my plans accordingly, I always say, baby is the boss. However, Timia was a perfect little model, slept throughout her photos, and we were able to get through multiple set-ups in a short amount of time.
It’s important to research and review the portfolio of any photographer you choose to work with, to ensure their style and approach align with your expectations. Additionally, communicating openly and discussing your needs and preferences with the photographer will help ensure a successful and satisfying experience.
